What is Joyful Horizons?

Hi! I’m Jessie Blake, and I’m passionate about creating educational experiences as unique as the children they serve. With 14 years of experience in Vermont public schools, independent schools, and alternative education, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative personalized, flexible learning can be. Most recently, as the director and headteacher of Mansfield Cooperative School, I developed multi-age programs that empowered students to explore their passions, build confidence, and thrive.

I started Joyful Horizons to extend that same level of individualized education to homeschooling families. I understand that homeschooling offers unparalleled opportunities to tailor education to a child’s strengths and interests, but it also presents challenges that can be hard to navigate alone.

I’m here to help parents create joyful, meaningful learning experiences that go beyond traditional models, empowering them to find what works best for their children.

At Joyful Horizons, my focus is on grades 3-8, a pivotal stage where children develop critical skills and independence. I offer personalized consulting to guide families through their homeschooling journey, as well as workshops for parents and enrichment classes for students. My services are designed not only for homeschooling families but for any parent looking to support their child’s education and growth.

I was born and raised in Vermont and live in Essex. In my free time I love exploring outdoors, dancing, and playing board games with friends!
